The Study On The Impact On Industrial Agglomeration From The Foreign Trade Of Fujian

Chinese economy has been rapidly growing for over 30 years since the reform and opening-up policy, and frequent trade activities and highly agglomerated industry have become the most important characteristics in the process of economic development. The east coastal area has not only become the main force of foreign trade, and evolved into the central area of China’s industrial agglomeration. Faced with the phenomenon of industrial agglomeration in the southeast coastal cities in Fujian Province, to figure out the interrelationships between the industrial agglomeration and international trade is of vital practical significance, which will help to make better use of the coastal geographical advantage and enhance the competitiveness of industry and economic strength.Based on the real condition of Fujian Province, this article focuses on the impact mechanism of foreign trade on the industrial agglomeration, which uses data and model to empirically analyze the relationship between them and draw conclusions as well as make a few recommendations. The theoretical part of this article introduces the reviews of the researches on the interrelationships between foreign trade and industrial agglomeration and classical theories, which in turn lays the theoretical foundation for the article and establishes the impact mechanism of foreign trade on industrial agglomeration.In the empirical part, first of all, respectively for 2003-2012 in Fujian Province’s foreign trade situation and manufacturing agglomeration do descriptive analysis, the results show that the external dependency of Fujian Province is higher, and long-term foreign trade surplus, and was gradually increased trend. Fuzhou, Xiamen and Quanzhou has dominated the obvious advantages on the development of foreign trade, while the foreign trade of the fastest growth rate in Longyan City. Communication equipment, computers and other electronic equipment manufacturing and instrumentation and cultural office machinery manufacturing are the highest extroversion degree. In the manufacturing industry agglomeration and industry cluster of Fujian Province is still centered on Xiamen, Quanzhou and Fuzhou, concentrated in technology and capital-intensive industries, the relatively large size and agglomeration, Zhangzhou, Longyan, Sanming, Nanping, Ningde, mainly based on resource endowment industry agglomeration. On the basis of the above analysis, with export extroverted degree said foreign trade strength, expressed in spatial Gini coefficient of industrial concentration degree, both into Spearson correlation analysis, found a significant positive correlation. Second, use EVIEWS software, based on the divisions level panel data from 2003 to 2012 in Fujian Province, on foreign trade and industrial agglomeration model analysis, Select scale economy effect variable and elements accumulation effect variable, and market expansion effect variable from the mechanism together to study the effect of these factors on the industrial concentration degree. Computing results show that the three variables have significant positive promoting effect on industrial agglomeration, which elements accumulation factors influences on industrial agglomeration is the largest, followed by market expansion effect.Policy recommendations are made, on the basis of above analysis and issues identified, for how to leverage the advantage of foreign trade to develop industrial agglomeration:Making full use of the coastal geography advantage for trade activities and optimizing the industrial layout; Leveraging the foreign trade technology spillover effect to raise the level of industrial agglomeration;To enhance the accumulation of high end elements to strengthen global competitiveness; Optimizing geographical structure of internal trade to enhance the trade vitality Fujian Province.
