In recent years, the small and medium-sized enterprise is booming and has a great contribution to the promotion of national GDP and tax growth. At the same time, a huge number of small and medium-sized enterprises have become the main force of innovation of science and technology, and play a very important role in the aspect of employment. With the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, as human beings are the formulation and the participants of all activities of enterprise, small and medium enterprises employees have gradually entered the stage of Chinese history, while playing an important role in the enterprise development and social development. However, with the improvement of people’s living standard, employee pursues more and more intensely for spiritual and material needs, which is shown as not only the pursuit of career success, but also the desire for happy family life. But based on the limited time, energy and other resources, it is difficult to satisfy the needs of its employees work and family demands, which leads to the problem of employee work-family balance.Employees work-family imbalance easily leads to staff enthusiasm decline, low work efficiency, lower job satisfaction, thereby affecting the healthy development of enterprises; at the same time, imbalance relationships of work and family easily leads to family conflicts, and even domestic violence, which is not conducive to the building of a harmonious society. Therefore, research on employee work-family balance problems in the small and medium-sized enterprises and putting forward the scientific and reasonable solution of it is very important.Firstly, this research cards the work-family balance related materials, and summarizes the characteristics of small and medium enterprises and its characteristics in human resource management. Secondly, this paper refers to Grzywacz’s work-family balance scale to design the questionnaire, and has randomly selected employees of five small and medium enterprises in Sichuan area as the research object, analysis of the sample enterprise employee work-family balance. Then, combining with the characteristics of small and medium-sized enterprises and the characteristics of human resource management, we summarize and analyze the work-family balance problem of employees in small and medium enterprises. Lastly, with the help of the theoretical knowledge of human resource management and work-family balance plan, standing in the points of the enterprise human resources management, put forward the corresponding management policy to help small and medium enterprises employees ease the work-family conflict and achieve work-family balance.The main significance of this study lies in not only the analysis and summary of human resources management features of the small and medium-sized enterprise and the problem of work-family balance, but also proposing the implementation of related management policy for achieving staff work-family balance for the small and medium-sized enterprise, and providing the certain reference value to build a modern, scientific human resources management system for small and medium sized enterprises.
