Research Enhanced Vegetable Prices Risks And Prevention

With the opening of the market, China’s agricultural market players face gradually increasing market uncertainty. In this paper, using Shouguang vegetable industry as an example, the author has analyzed the causes and mechanism of price risk of Shouguang Vegetable, proposed successful experiences and problems of response to price risk of Shouguang vegetable. Based on successful experiences from domestic and foreign countries and regions, the author has presented prevention mechanisms of vegetable prices risk in Shouguang city, in order to meet production and marketing of agricultural products in China by the objective needs to avoid price risk. This study are as follows:1.The causes and inherent mechanism of vegetable prices risksThe causes of agricultural price risk mainly includes four aspects: changes in supply and demand of agricultural products themselves and the external environment aspects. The supply of agricultural production is mainly affected by costs, producers supply behavior and organizational forms of production; The demand of agricultural production is mainly affected the income levels of consumer and the prices of other competitive agricultural. External environment is primarily influenced by other growing areas and macroeconomic policy.2.The successful experiences of Shouguang vegetable industry in avoiding price riskOn the influence of domestic and foreign markets, in recent years, there have been some vegetable market price volatility, Shouguang municipal government have focued on seven areas of work to respond to price risk. as following :adjusting planting structure, expanding the scale of vegetables, boosting vegetable industry; introducting new technologies and new varieties, improving production efficiency; good quality of vegetables, bigger vegetable brand, effectively avoiding price risk; developing domestic and international markets, invigorating circulation vegetables; strongen leading enterprises, accelerating the industrialization of agriculture and the process of internationalization; regularly publishing vegetable price index, good information to guide and government guidance and market operation, promoting agricultural insurance work..3. The problems of Shouguang vegetable industry in response price riskIn response to market risk, Shouguang is facing severe challenges. These are mainly from the following aspects: The construction of agricultural information is lagging; The scale of construction is small, processing and development is behind; The safety awareness is not strong, there is much difficult in quality and safety management; The promotion and implementation of contract farming is not enough; The policy support is not enough, and risk prevention mechanism is unsound.4.The prevention mechanisms suggestions of prices risk in Shouguang vegetableFacing current development status of Shouguang vegetable industry, the author proposes the following prevention mechanism. Namely, to strengthen guidance and service functions of government to help farmers reduce price risk; to improve the quality of farmers, strengthen awareness of risk prevention from farmers on vegetable prices; to establish a national platform for vegetable cultivation and circulation of information; promote agricultural super-docking operation mode; to increase vegetable processing and conversion capabilities, enhance the conversion value level.
