A Study On The International Competitiveness Of Mutton Sheep Industry In Shandong Province

Shandong province is the third largest province of mutton sheep production in addition to Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang in China. Shandong province is big province in China, but not trading power province. And the international competitiveness of mutton sheep industry is not high, sheep industry development of Shandong province still has a long way to go in the road of internationalization. Therefore, research on the status of the international competiveness of mutton sheep industry and its influence, factors of Shandong Province sheep industry production and trade situation, the sustainable development of Shandong province to enhance the international competitiveness of mutton sheep industry in Shandong Province, which has very important significance during the transition period of the globalization of China’s economic development and world economy opening continuously.Firstly, this paper analyzes the current situation and trend of development of the sheep industry. The world production and trade increased year by year, the world production continues to shift to Africa Asia and other developing countries, but the sheep trade still concentrated in developed countries. China is the world’s biggest sheep production country, breeding stock, slaughter sheep and mutton production ranks in the world, but the meat trade is small, is the largest producer of typical trade country, "". Shandong province is a big province of animal husbandry of our country tradition, is in addition to the three largest National Agricultural Pastoral sheep breeding production big province, has a solid industrial base, the development of sheep industry has an important position in the province and the country, trade in sheep, the third sheep meat export province, with exports of mutton mainly, live sheep exports less.Secondly, through the analysis of the international competitiveness of performance index and strength index, we found that small share of exports in Shandong province mutton products, revealed comparative advantage is not obvious, the product competitiveness is weak, compared with the world trade gap and mutton production. With the rising price of mutton, mutton products export in Shandong province has lost the price advantage, quality and competitiveness has improved, the production level of Shandong Province, sheep and goat sheep compared with other world production and exporting countries have a certain gap, but the production level rise faster.Finally, through the analysis of the international competitiveness of Shandong mutton sheep industry factors, Shandong Province found that sheep industry basic elements of good conditions, but advanced factors development is relatively backward, the domestic market demand continues to expand, continue to highlight the contradiction between supply and demand, related and supporting industry development is not perfect, the development of mutton sheep industry in the transformation of the coexistence of opportunities and challenges industry, national development plan and the introduction of Shandong province and the lack of policy support for the development of sheep industry support policies and subsidies. This a series of problems and contradictions in Shandong province affected the international competitiveness of mutton sheep industry in Shandong Province, leading to the sheep industry competitiveness is weak. The paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions in order to enhance the international competitiveness of Shandong mutton sheep industry.
