The Social Support For The New Generation Of Migrant Workers’ Employment Research Based On Network

Since China’s reform and opening up, the economy advances rapidly at the same time.A large-scale migration is beginning. Those come from countryside to city, from undeveloped areas to developed areas, they are living in cities but with no city registered permanent account, they are known as migrant workers. History of the reform and development has been the past 36 years, had a migrant peasant workers has gradually exit the migration tide, no longer is the main force of city construction, replaced by their generations--who born after twenty 80 th,90th. From the perspective of social support network to study their employment situation would be able to better understand the characteristic of the group.This paper investigates in Shanghai songjiang industrial park, based on the new generation of peasant workers in the industrial park as the research object.In order to reflect the the network characteristics of this group, using social support network theory and randomly selected 225 migrant workers in the park as a sample, by the way of questionnaire and depth interview to get the data and information. Through the analysis of network scale, the convergence and heterogeneity, relationship between composition, network density to research this group’s employment structure characteristics; Through the analysis of condensing subgroup to further study the group characteristics of this group in order to obtain innovative ideas; Material, spiritual and instrumental support to illustrate this group when they are during the employment and from the formal and informal angles to analyze the influencing factors of new generation of migrant workers’ social support of their employment.Through the analysis we found that the scale of new generation of migrant workers in Songjiang industrial park is not big; The heterogeneity of network is strong, the convergence is weak; Faced with employment difficulties,they seek for strong relationship for help more than the weak relationship; Network relationship is loose, not tight; New generation of migrant workers have tendency condensing subgroup, their social support network is divided into internal one clique and overlaps; Material and instrumental support is used usually, spiritual support is often ignored; The use of formal social support is less than informal social support.Finally, the thesis of Songjiang industrial park of the new generation of migrant workers employment and pattern plans are put forward on the improvement of the social support network, in order to better consolidate and expand the new generation migrant workers’ social network, eventually improve the level and quality of their employment.
