As the basic industry for human’s survival and reproduction, agriculture is also an intertwined special industry of the natural and economic reproduction. After primitive agriculture, traditional agriculture and "oil agriculture", the construction of modern agriculture has become a trend of world agricultural development.In China, as a developing agricultural country, agriculture issue has always been a major problem in our country’s economic and social development. The Party and the government has always attached great importance and attention to it. It can be seen from exploring the road of modern agricultural development process that the development of modern agriculture relies on the development of science and technology,while the development of science and technology depends on the development of collaborative innovation. The key to solving the problems of agriculture in our country is to Keep up with the trend of the world collaborative innovation of science and technology, to focus on the construction of modern agriculture,and to vigorously promote self-dependent innovation of agriculture.The purpose of this study is to explore the role of collaborative innovation of science and technologythe on the path of modern agricultural development. Through the analysis of the current situation of collaborative innovation of the science and technology in agriculture, newly existing problems are to be found out and corresponding countermeasures to be put forward. It is aimed at helping strengthen China’s ability of collaborative innovation of the science and technology in modern agriculture, improving its international competitiveness and promoting the development of modern agriculture.The concept of collaborative innovation of science and technology is put forward in recent years. But due to the developing trend of socialization and economization, collaborative innovation of science and technology has penetrated into all aspects of daily life and production before the concept was proposed.Through decades’efforts after China’s reform and opening-up, collaborative innovation of agricultural science and technology in China has improved. Especially in recent years as "university-industry collaboration" is put forward, the constant communication and exchanges of elements during agricultural production greatly promote the development of modern agriculture in our country.But because of the complexity of collaborative innovation of science and technology in agriculture, many problems still exist, such as defecient laws relating collaborative innovation, unreasonable industrial structure of agriculture, backward intensive-processing technology of agricultural products, prominent problems about resource and environment, unsound talent mechanism and the insufficient innovative ability, etc.Finally, in this paper, policy recommendations about how China’s collaborative innovation of agricultural science and technology boosts modern agriculture were proposed. First is to pay attention to the needs of the agricultural cooperative innovation, emphasize the dominant position of agricultural industrialization and increase policy support of the government. Second is to strengthen the cooperation of government, agriculture and academy, as well as innovate and promote services mechanism. Third is to propose collaborative promotion measures of transformation mechanism in the development of modern agriculture. Fourth is to put forward collaborative personnel training of modern agriculture, establish a scientific development of agricultural science and technology talent management system and establish a sound mechanism for personnel training in accordance with industrial development. We should strive to change new agricultural science and technology resources into value-added material wealth and improve economic efficiency of agriculture, thus promoting sustainable development of agriculture and farmers’ income growth.
