Southern Of Xinjiang Mineral Resources Exploration Problems And Countermeasures Research

Xinjiang is in the middle of the Silk Road Economic Zone, which is a key area of the great western development and the action of strategy implementation of mineral exploration breakthrough. Xinjiang is also in the strategic position of Northwest China and is an important gateway to opening to the outside of the world. The mining industry has becoming the advantage industry in Xinjiang now. The output value of mining and related products occupies a larger proportion in the total Xinjiang’s, which has become a new growth point of Xinjiang economic development. Mining is playing the more important roles in the economic and social development in Xinjiang.The southern region of Xinjiang is one of the sixteen important metallogenic belts in China, which also is a very important region for the whole of economic development and social stability of Xinjiang. The southern region of Xinjiang has high value potential mineral resources, where the metallogenic condition is superior. However, in here, the basic geological work is not enough, the level of exploration of main mineral resources is in a very low degree. The most mine’s exploration depth is less 500 meters below the ground. There are having less chance to find out large and medium-sized mines in the region. The current situation of mineral exploration in here seriously restrict development of resource-based economy of Xinjiang. To speeding up the geological exploration process in the southern region of Xinjiang will promote the economic development in Xinjiang and reduce the imbalance development of the regional economy which have significance meanings for maintaining stability in border areas.In this paper, the author analyzes and summarizes the existing issues of the domestic geological exploration and organizes the geological exploration theories from the domestic to foreign. It also sorts out the present situation in the exploration of mineral resources in the southern region of Xinjiang and analyzes the reasons of the main problems occurring. Huoyunshan lead-zinc mine, which is in Hetan County of Hetan region, is exampled for the geological exploration breakthrough in the southern region of Xinjiang. Finally, the paper summarizes several advises for speeding up mineral exploration process in the southern region of Xinjiang, including setting up mineral development special funds for the southern region, improving the mining rights management and accelerating the basic geological survey in there.
