Research On Business Development Strategy Of Guangdong Telecom

In recent years, the internet services have been developed rapidly. Big data, cloud computing, cloud storage and other new services arise as the times require. Legacy broadband technologies can not meet the requirements of new internet services in the future. Furthermore, China’s government announced "Broadband China & Optical Cities" strategy in 2010 and Chinese telecom operators also declared that optical broadband network will be constructed in the next few years. In the past 3 years, the mobile internet services have seen explosive growth. In the meanwhile, the TD-LTE licenses have been proclaimed for Chinese operators in December 2013 by Ministry of industry and information of the People’s Republic of China. China telecom is facing with a strategic choice of optical network construction or 4G network construction.In the context of this vital period, how China Telecom Guangdong branch company (abbreviation:Guangdong Telecom) to choose their strategy is becoming very important. The author will supply the suggestions and the strategy through analyzing, developing and implementing either optical network or 4G strategy and also will provide the sustainable development strategy in this thesis.At the part of strategy of analysis, first of all, the method of PEST analysis was used to analyze the external common environment of China telecom; then, using the analysis of 4G environment, to build the Five Forces Model. Furthermore, the theory of SWOT analysis was applied to analysis the strength, weakness, opportunity and threaten concentrated. At last, the GE matrix analysis method was used to analyse the services of Guangdong Telecom. The choice of strategy was based on the strategy analysis to confirm the difference competence strategy; The application of strategy will be considered through services innovation, network evolution and organization reform to make the appropriate suggestion and solution while applying.
