The promotion of new crop varieties is an important research content of modern precision agriculture, grasping the suitable regions for promotion is able to improve the working efficiency. While the crop suitability evaluation makes concluding remarks on the suitable extent of a particular crop in a particular area. So, ecological suitability evaluation on new crop varieties based on GIS can provide decision support to determine the area of promotion of new crop varieties.Using the thresholds to describe conditions of crop growth is usually able to achieve satisfactory results in the work of suitability evaluation, but some crops’ (especially new varieties) ecological thresholds can not be determined. In order to solve this problem, for the new varieties of crops with determined thresholds, this paper uses "four basis points" ecological distance algorithm to calculate the ecological distance of single ecological factor, calculates comprehensive suitability evaluation results with comprehensive weighted calculation method. Then the Secondary threshold method is used to classify the suitability evaluation results, which helps to determine new species suitable growth area. For the new varieties of crops without determined thresholds, this paper determines the suitable growth area of new varieties based on the maximum entropy (MaxEnt) model and the experimental data of the trial points, which provides decision supports for designating new varieties promoting areas. This article carrys on studying on decision support system for sromotion of new varieties of crops based onecological suitablity evaluation with spatial analysis principles. First of all, grid overlay analysis and grid computing are used to realize ecological suitability evaluation, statistical functions based on the "four basis points" theory. At the same time, the function of suitability evaluation based on the maximum entropy model is realized with MaxEnt model. Finally, this paper takes a new variety of wheat in North China as the study object, Beijing as the study area, uses the above two models for suitability evaluation to get the quantitative evaluation and prediction of the promoting region, the results show that the forecast result accords with the actual situation of wheat planting in the study area.
