In China, with the urban residents’ leisure time increased and material life in rich, the people’s lifestyle changed gradually, and leisure had become an important part of public life. Since the new century, the Chinese Government attached great importance to the leisure life of residents."National tourism and leisure Outline (2013-2020)" enforced in February 2013 proposed to build a moderately prosperous society to adapt to the modern system of national tourism and leisure. China set off an upsurge of urban leisured construction, and the people’s leisure life changed entirely with it. As the the largest industrial and commercial city in china, Shanghai has been at the forefront of the national urban leisured construction. The urban leisure infrastructure is consummate, and the public recreation concept is strong. The way of is leisure colorful, and the urban leisure level ranks the nation.In the late 21st century, many domestic scholars had undertaken extensive research of public leisure, and had achieved fruitful research results. However, we found that the current leisure research was focused on the comparative study of leisure among different groups or different cities citizens at the same time. The research from the time dimension of a long-term concern of urban residents’leisure evolution is weak. In 2004,the"City Recreation and its effects on" Research Group of East China Normal University, Department of Tourism, conducted a large-scale survey for the leisure of citizens in Shanghai, Wuhan, Chengdu and other cities of the Yangtze River Valley.And they had done a key research on the leisure way, leisure satisfaction and leisure factors. Decades, the East Leisure Studies Center of East China Normal University had conducted a systematic and thorough research on Shanghai public leisure, the layout structure of urban recreation area, the urban leisure space, the urban leisured level and so on. In 2014, the research group conducted a large-scale questionnaire survey on the urban leisure in Shanghai, Wuhan and Chengdu again. This provided an opportunity and a solid research foundation for this study.Taking Shanghai citizens’way of leisure as the research object, this paper used questionnaire survey method, comparative study method and factor analysis method to explore the evolution trends of Shanghai citizens’ way of leisure and its influencing factors in depth.This paper reached the following conclusions. Conclusion 1, the network leisure has become the fastest growing leisure activity in Shanghai. Conclusion 2, homes enjoying leisure at home become a trend.When Shanghai citizens took participation in leisure, more people were inclined to indoor recreation and community recreation. Conclusion 3, Shanghai citizens showed convergence characteristics in leisure activities, leisure activities property and leisure time occupied when participation in leisure. Conclusion 4, Shanghai recreational needs of the market segmentation tendencies were obvious.This article includes the following sections. The first part is an introduction, including the origin of research, content, methods and related literature review and other content. The second part outlines the reason why choose Shanghai as the research object, preliminary research base and sample design and so on. The third part is a comparative analysis of the leisure companion, leisure activities, leisure facilities, recreation and leisure time of Shanghai residents. The fourth part is a comparative analysis of the leisure companion of different gender, age and education level groups. The fifth part is a research of the influence factors of The Shanghai residents through the comparison of the mean and factor analysis. The sixth part is the conclusion and prospect.
