The Study Of The Overseas Chinese Capitals In Guangxi In The New Century

This paper is aimed at studying the flows, scales, origins as well as the development of overseas Chinese enterprises in Guangxi since this century. It also sums up the analysis towards the potential problems that overseas Chinese enterprises had met with during the investment in Guangxi, and puts up some countermeasures and suggestions in order to interpret the interaction between overseas Chinese and traditional homeland of overseas Chinese. Additionally, this paper enriches the study of regional investment from overseas Chinese, and promotes the healthy development of Guangxi overseas Chinese investment. This paper is under the perspective of theory of economic globalization and international trade theory, and based on the questionnaires of Guangxi local statistics and overseas Chinese enterprises case study; combining the macro research and case study as well as integrating the literature and questionnaire survey in researching the Guangxi overseas Chinese.Therefore it comes with conclusions as follows: The flows of Guangxi overseas Chinese concentrate in the traditional manufacturing industry,while the emerging industry and the third industry are mostly ignored;The total sums of capital from the overseas Chinese in Guangxi is smaller than those provinces along the eastern coasts; The origins of capital from overseas Chinese are relatively simple, and they concentrate in Hong Kong and some Southeast Asian countries. Thus according to the case study in this paper, the high cost of hard environment and the lack of standardization of soft environment become the biggest problem in theoverseas Chinese investment in Guangxi. What’s more, the historical factors and social factors lead to the small scales of overseas Chinese investment in Guangxi. Guangxi needs to take the successful example of other provinces, and strengthens the infrastructure construction as well as improves the shortage of standard for investment environment. Only by this way, Guangxi can abstract more overseas Chinese investment in developing.
