| In recent years, corporation social responsibility has increasingly ittracted widely attention both in China and abroad. Various industries and many companies have already released their social responsibility reports, particularly introducing and analyzing their contributions to corporation social responsibility. As a pillar industry and lifeblood to national economy, steel industry is a driving force to national economy which cannot be ignored. How steel companies perform their social responsibility is crucial issue. At present, because of international and national economic situations, many steel companies have poor performance and overly rely on subsidy from local governments. Steel companies provide many job opportunities and have made great contributions to local economic development, which objectively reflect their social responsibilities and are the reasons for government to offer them subsidy. There is also relevance between corporation social responsibility and government performance examination indicators and social goals. As a result, how companies perform their social responsibilities is definitely relevant to government subsidy offered to them. Based on theories and principles of corporation social responsibility, and the particular characteristics and current situation of steel industry, this paper analyzes the relevance between corporation social responsibility and government subsidy of listed steel companies. By means of collecting data on government subsidy offered to listed steel companies and their social responsibilities, this paper provides examples, demonstrations and finally, relevant suggestions.This paper, using qualitative and quantitative analysis and combining theories and examples, deeply analyzes the relevance between corporation social responsibility and government subsidy of listed steel companies. On one side, this paper offers a new perspective to judge government subsidy. On the other side, this paper provides a reference for steel companies to receive government subsidy, improve performance and face current difficulties. Besides, this paper objectively promotes steel companies to better understand their social responsibilities, and gives a direction for listed steel companies to make plans and reports on corporation social responsibility and empirical reference to government sectors when making decisions. |
