With the rapid development China’s market economy, diversified enterprisepatterns are constantly emerging. In order to increase the market share, more andmore enterprises turn their attention to cost reduction and increase efficiency. So theycan meet the demands of market changing. Due to the dominate idea of leanproduction is to increase their efficiency (by reducing waste in their operations or byincreasing throughput) to meet customer’s requirements, many industries arebeginning to try to implement lean production. But whether we can apply the leanproduction in the actual enterprise, or lean production which developed from ToyotaProduction System that according to the Japan production model is adapted toChinese enterprises, also need further study and discussion.In this context, the first two chapters of this article have provided a briefintroduction of lean production include lean production’s theory and related tools.Also we introduce seven types of waste and how to use lean production tools solvethese problems.OTIS is one of the early investment companies in China and it has developed inChina for30years. In the past30years, OTIS is constantly attempt and running in thenew operation mode. Until now OTIS make the Achieving Competitive Excellence(ACE) which came from lean production mode as its fundamental operating mode.Author introduced OTIS characteristic operation model--Achieving CompetitiveExcellence operation model according her nine years of work experience in OTISElevator Company. At the same time it introduced the related tools and application inOTIS. Finally the article shows how to use Achieving Competitive Excellence inenterprise’s areas which include production and non-production areas, and how ACEworked in process improvement through the examples.This thesis embarks from the actual problems in the enterprise, in-depth analysis,in order to illustrate the lean thinking can used in any processes even in a tiny link,and it shows how the lean thinking solve the waste problems. Meanwhile, the authoralso hopes to explain how the lean thinking is run through in every link or enterpriseoperation, and how the lean thinking solve the existing problems in continuousimprovement and perfect. Expect this article can give the companies which want toimplement lean manufacturing some revelations and reference. This article hopes to eventually help the domestic enterprise managers and employees at all levels toimprove their ability of lean management and technical skills.
