With the accelerated progress of economic globalization in1990s, regionaleconomic integration has entered a stage of rapid development, not only in the sizeand number of the cooperation organization, but also in the content and thediversified type. In recent years, the trend of regional economic integration, whichsurpasses geographical boundary and pursues high standard has been enhanced andextended. The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement is a free trade agreement withhigh standard and quality, which has surpassed boundary, connected three continents, and stretched across the Pacific. It has caused widespread concern across the globesince America joined in and several developed countries has involved in TPPnegotiation. In2013, Japan has joined in the negotiation and strived to take someagriculture products as exceptional products, which make the agriculture productissue begin to attract attention and the research about agricultural products in TPPnegotiation increase. This thesis focuses on the agricultural trade of the existingmembers in TPP and conducts deep and multi-dimensional research.Firstly, the thesis introduces the background of agricultural trade under TPPframework in details, and also describes the relevant literatures, which provide thebasis for research.Secondly, the thesis tells the background, negotiation process and content ofTPP, and also the relevant negotiation on agricultural trade in TPP agreement. Thispart also speculates the development trend of the TPP agricultural negotiation.Thirdly, the main part of the thesis, which takes the status quo of agriculturalproducts trade of the TPP members as basis, the revealed comparative advantages ofagricultural products trade of each member in TPP as subject, then analyzes thegeneral comparative advantage of agricultural trade of the existing members in TPPand the agricultural product type which comparative advantages for each member. Finally, the thesis combines the actual situation of Chinese agriculturalproducts, and analyzes the potential influence to Chinese agricultural products fromrevealed comparative advantage, tariff and trade combination index if the TPPexpands. Besides, the thesis proposed the countermeasures and suggestions that how China should respond to TPP, and also provides ideas that how china alleviates theimpact on agricultural trade from TPP.Through the study, the thesis has made following conclusions:(1) Among theexisting members in TPP, no matter the developed countries or the developingcountries, all of them have high dependence on the foreign agricultural trade, andthe developed countries are higher than developing countries (except Malaysia). However, not all the tariff in developing countries is higher than developedcountries. Among the existing members of TPP, excepting Mexico, the tariff ofagricultural products in developing countries is lower than many developedcountries.(2) Among the developed members in TPP, the competitive advantage ofagricultural trades shows polarization phenomenon. New Zealand and Australiahave a strong competitive advantage, while Brunei, Japan, Singapore and Americaare weak. The TC index of agricultural trade in developing countries is relativelyconcentrated with the average of0.2~0.3, which have a slight competitive advantage. The TC index of Mexico is less than zero, which has a competitive disadvantage.(3)From the overall agricultural products, among the TPP members, the agriculturalproducts in New Zealand and Chile have a strong and increasingly comparativeadvantage, while Australia, Canada, Vietnam, Peru and Malaysia have a relativelystrong comparative advantage. The agricultural products in Japan, Mexico andSingapore have no advantages. However, the comparative advantage of Japan isgradually increasing.(4) Among the existing members of TPP, the agriculturalexports in developed country and the developing countries which have comparativeadvantage on a certain agricultural product are high. In the international agriculturaltrade, according to the different competitiveness of agricultural products, TPPmembers have formed a series of competition.(5) From the negotiation objectives ofTPP and the comparative advantages in agricultural products of the TPP existingmember, in short terms, the impact to Chinese agricultural products from TPP issmall because of the policy lag. In long terms, the foreign products that haveadvantages from TPP members will seize Chinese export market quickly, and alsowill affect the domestic development.
