With the continuous development of China’s economy and society, the kinds offoreign banking business have been growing, harvesting large gains, while also facingincreasing risks. In recent years, more and more frequent operation events occurred,which caused the growing losses and so attracted much attention at home and abroad.However, due to the late start of research on operational risk, and the database of thecorresponding loss has not been established and improved, many obstacles arebrought into our studies. Combined with the existing relevant research achievementsat home and abroad, situation analysis of operational risk in the country, this thesisselects the Basic Indicator Approach and revenue models for empirical analysis, andchooses the large state-owned joint-stock commercial banks, shares of commercialbanks and city commercial banks representatives of bank-related data as the studysample. The results show that the number of accrued capital from less to more largestate-owned banks in turn is joint-stock banks, stock commercial banks, citycommercial banks. Thus, policy recommendations are proposed as follows. First,establish and improve the data collection of their own loss, and build a platform forsharing. Second, focus on the long-term healthy development and make their owndevelopment plans. Third, develop the bank’s own management personnel. Fourth, usethe latest research results of excellent experts and scholars. Fifth, increase investmentin operational risk measurement and management. Sixth, cultivate a unique corporateculture of risk control system. Finally, develop appropriate measurement model basedon their own enterprises.
