With the development of Internet technology and the deepening of economicglobalization, the barriers to entry the operation of e-commerce platforms isincreasingly lower. At the same time, the market environment that the e-commerceplatforms depend on changes more and more uncertain, and it is urgent for thee-commerce platforms to make fast response, shorten innovation cycles, and quicklyfind and grasp the new growth opportunities. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze therelevant social and economic environment, and to build competitive and collaborativemechanisms between the e-commerce market parties.The vigorous development of e-commerce has attracted many experts andscholars to research the development power of e-commerce from differentperspectives and fields. Since the methodology of social network analysis from thefield of sociology was introduced into the field of economics, some experts try toapply this method to the field of opportunity discovery, and this opens up a newdirection for the in-depth study of opportunity discovery. By using social networkanalysis, this paper tries to find the relationship between social networks, informationsearching, entrepreneur trait and growing potential opportunity discovery ine-commerce platform.This article first defines the connotation of growing potential opportunity andsocial network of e-commerce platform, and then discusses the role of informationresource in the process of growing potential opportunity discovery and analyzes theimpact of social network on searching growing potential opportunity information. Onthis basis, this paper puts forward the view that social network affects the growingpotential opportunity discovery in e-commerce platform by the way of affecting theprocess of information searching. Secondly, this paper analyzes the structural featuresof social network form several dimension, and introduces entrepreneur trait as theadjustment factor in the process of discovering growing potential opportunity ine-commerce platform. On the basis of discussing the impact of the variousdimensions on growing potential opportunity discovery, this paper proses relatedresearch hypothesizes and builds the discovery model of growing potentialopportunity in e-commerce platform based on social network and entrepreneur trait. Finally, this study uses content analysis methodology and SEM (Structural EquationModeling) to empirical research and gets the conclusion that, in the condition ofinformation asymmetry constraint, the social network affect he growing potentialopportunity discovery in e-commerce platform by the way of helping it to get moreinformation and to enhance its capability of absorbing information from externalenvironment.
