| X Shipbuilding Companyis one of the largest engineering ship constructioncompanies with great influence both at home and abroad and ranks among the top3inthe engineering ship construction field in China. In the last few years, its salesrevenue from main business (shipbuilding) increases dramatically from RMB130million to1.2billion. With the expansion of its production capacity, a higherquality management level is required for X Shipbuilding Company.Since1960s, after Total Quality Management Theory (TQM) was put forward, peoplehave gradually acknowledged that the quality of products is realized not just byrelying on product inspection but by performing comprehensive analysis and studythrough systematic engineering concepts. This paper introduces the development ofquality concepts first, followed by the introduction of the market positioning of XShipbuilding Company in the shipbuilding industry and the current qualitymanagement system of the company. By analyzing the current situation of XShipbuilding Company in the aspects of quality planning, quality objective setting,quality control process, quality assurance and quality improvement, the problems ofthe company in quality management works are found. Against the problems found,improvement measures and countermeasures are formulated, so as to realize theupgrading of the company in quality management level. |
