A Study On The Industrial Cluster’s Efficiency Based On Cellular Automata

Today, Industrial cluster are becoming mainstream of regional economydevelopment. Industrial cluster is beneficial to scale economy and creatingexternal economy. It is favorable to strengthening the enterprise’s cooperation,advancing the industry competition capacity, promoting enterprise innovationand creating innovation efficiency etc.. At present, the research on cluster’sefficiency still mainly pay attention to the phenomena, the further research onthe formation and influencing factors of cluster’s efficiency was seldom.Therefore, the research on the industrial cluster’s efficiency has an importantpractical and theoretical significance.On the basis of summarizing prior work, this paper summarizes theshortcomings in the researches on the industrial cluster’s efficiency. After thatthis paper starts from the phenomena (external economy, competition andlearning mechanism etc.), defines the concept of cluster’s efficiency, andanalyzes the causes and inducing factors to establish main indicators: grossoutput and Capital-output ratio. Next, figure out the state variable and itsinfluencing factors to build model for different styles of industrial clusters(horizontal industrial clusters and vertical industrial clusters). The cellularautomata model and the method of simulation are applied to the research onthe Industrial Cluster’s efficiency to formulate the horizontal industrialcluster’s efficiency and vertical industrial cluster’s efficiency based on cellularautomata respectively. At last, the simulation experiments of the model arecarried on to find out the key influencing factors of horizontal industrialclusters and vertical industrial clusters.The result of the research indicates that for horizontal industrial cluster’sefficiency, Technology state plays the most important part to both the grossoutput and capital-output ratio. Natural resources state takes second place.Competition in clusters influences the capital-output ratio a bit deeply, but itinfluences the gross output slightly. Supply of labor almost makes noinfluences to Capital-output ratio, but influences the gross output a bit deeply.The other factors, for example: benefits, regional brand, technical support and market also influence the gross output and capital-output ratio of industrialclusters in a certain extent.For vertical industrial clusters, Technology state plays the most importantpart to both the gross output and capital-output ratio. Industry concentrationstate takes second place. But for gross output, Industry concentration stateplays the most important part. The other factors, for example: naturalresources, supply of labor, benefits, regional brand, cooperation degree ofclusters, government policy also have influences.This research is a benefit exploration to the research on the industrialcluster’s efficiency. The thinking and the method of our research can promotethe profound research on the industrial clusters. The conclusion of ourresearch can help the government and enterprises pay close attention to thekey influencing factors. It has great theory meaning and realistic meaning.
