The Contemporary Transportation Technology And Chinese New Land Power

The development of transportation technology not only extends the contestedfields among countries, but also affects the political and economic value of thegeopolitical space. A country which owns the advanced transportation technologycould build a strong nation and be in the leading position of the geopolitical relations.In this paper, to study the history of Chinese land power’s vicissitudes from thetransportation technology perspective, we find that the advanced transportationtechnology brought a strong landpower to China in ancient times, and thebackwardness of transportation technology led to Chinese land power’s decline inmodern times. Analyzing the rise and decline of Chinese land power from thetransportation technology viewpoint as the background, I speculate that China willachieve the new land power regression by the advanced technology of high-speed rail,expressway, pipeline,UHV transmission, big aircraft, and realize the nationalrejuvenation of "Chinese Dream” by developing the land power and sea power evenly.
