Studies On The Mechanism Of Terminating Rural Stock Economy Cooperatives

With the large expansion of city areas and rapid development of rural urbanization in China, the rural areas are meeting a new system innovation. Reforming of rural stock cooperatives is considered as a re-organization and system innovation for rural community organization to fit in the need of productivity development and promotion of industrialization and urbanization.At present, rural stock cooperatives is developing rapidly in the various areas of China, with a good result of both economic and social benefits, and it is greatly welcomed by farmers. Jiangbei district, being as a major part of developed and urbanized coastal city Ningbo, initiated the thought of carrying out rural stock cooperatives reforming and achieved huge effectiveness through more than10years’practice, resulting in the enhancement of community economy, protection of farmers’benefits, and maintenance of rural society stability. However, with the further promotion of urbanization and development of urban and rural integration, a series of changes took place for village community economy organization in the areas close to the city, characterized by basic completion of village economy stock cooperatives reforming, dissolution of villages and establishment of residential quarters for some villages, gradual disappearance of the functions including public product supply and social affair management, in place of running by city community. As a result, the income of rural community declined, leading to red letter for some cooperatives and erosion of capital fund due to drawing extra dividends. Therefore, rural stock cooperatives have been at the critical stage if it will continue existing or terminating. In this paper, practicability of terminating rural stock economic cooperatives of Jiangbei district was analyzed, and general consideration and working suggestion were proposed for conducting termination, so as to provide valuable reference for enhancing promotion of urbanization and development rural and city integration.
