:In the modern logistics system,logistics center is an important node in the entire logistics network, and bears the storage, sorting, distribution processing, distribution groups, distribution and information processing functions. The logistics center construction is a complicated systematic project, which requires high investment, long cycle and hard to change. So In order to ensure the construction of rationality and science, reduce construction and operating costs, improve operational efficiency and meet customer needs, it is necessary to do a study on problems related to logistics center layout.Firstly, this thesis describes the logistics center layout planning theories on the basis of reviewing a large number of domestic and foreign literature, introduces the concept of logistics center, the type, function, characteristics, layout planning methods and so on. Next, this thesis analyzes the design principle of SLP(System Layout Planning)method and layout planning steps, summarizes the deficiencies of traditional SLPmethod in logistics center layout planning,and proposes a corresponding improvement program. And then, the improved SLP method is applied to logistics center functional area layout design. This thesis puts the material handling cost minimization and comprehensive relations maximization as the target, establishes a layout optimization model, uses genetic algorithm to solve.Finally, the model and algorithm is applied to the functional area layout design of the Loudi northern railway logistics center, verifying the feasibility of the method and providing some guidance for the functional area layout planning of logistics centers.
