The Exploration For Developing Husbandry Pattern And The Efficiency Of Pig Production In Henan Province

Central Economic Zone has become national development strategies. As the coreof the Central Economic Zone and a major agricultural area, Henan Province has its achievementsand challenges in the development of animal husbandry. This thesis, in full knowledge of theCentral Economic Zone status and Henan husbandry (especially pig industry), taking pigproduction in Henan for example, studied12years’ pig-production technical efficiency among thescale farming and backyard farming mode. We learned that large-scale is the highest technicalefficiency in Henan Province and the backyard is the lowest one.Obstacles animal husbandry in Henan Province is facing are: instability breedingefficiency, insufficient capital investment, the imperfect macro control and market system, lowlevel of organization of animal husbandry, not well-completed industry chain, low industrialconcentration, lack of professional and technical personnel, serious environmental pollutionproblems caused by improper handling of livestock manure. This thesis attempted to explore thedevelopment mode of animal husbandry in Henan Province. It was believed that the green andecological livestock, which is less pollutant to the environment, and industrialization of husbandry,was promoted to be the best way for the development of animal husbandry in Henan province.According to the problems husbandry Henan is facing, the thesis put up with somecorresponding policy recommendations: to increase the science and technology investment inHenan province’s animal husbandry; to balance the economic benefits and environment protection;to attract qualified personnel and enhance talent personnel construction; to make “mechanization,specialization, standardization” raise the breeding efficiency; to adjust agriculture and animalhusbandry structure, to use circular agriculture to drive the development of animal husbandry; tohighly value and accelerate livestock products processing industry development; to support andcultivate leading enterprises; to promote the industrialization of animal husbandry; to improve thequality of animal products; to increase the credibility of Henan animal husbandry; to strengthenthe legal safeguard and the governmental service; to try to implement husbandry insurance.
