Research On The Economic Development Of Hui Village-level In Henan Province

There is a total of815Muslim villages in Henan Province,500of which the population is more than500, or Muslim population make up over50%. These Muslim-inhabited villages interacted withneighboring villages in culture, economy and resources over a long period, forming the village-leveleconomy gradually which takes the Hui village as the center. In1980s, with the enhancement ofopening-up policy, a number of traditional industries of short chain and extensive development came intobeing in Hui villages of Henan province, which resulted in the sudden emergence of Hui village-leveleconomy, and had a certain influence inside and outside the province. Until the new century, due tocomplex and changeable international economy situation, as well as profound appeals for ecologicalprotection inside the nation, extensive model of Hui Village-level economy in Henan province was severelyaffected and trapped in difficulties.Throughout the development course of Hui village-level economy in Henan Province, influenced bygeographical location, the policy environment, cultural factors, religious factors, historical heritage andother factors, Hui village-level economy has taken the features different from those of general village-leveleconomy. From regional distribution, the Hui village-level economy has regional dependency; Fromeconomic pattern, It is dependent on religion and culture; From its distribution, it is with scattered nature;from the industry model, It is of exclusiveness; from operation model, It is familial.In the process of modernization, the main problems Hui Village-level economy in Henan Province isfacing contain five aspects below: first, owing to the uneven development of Hui Village-level economy inHenan, it is difficult to create synergy for group effect; Second, imbalanced development of industrystructure makes the Hui village-level economy in Henan fail to form mutually-promoted economicstructure; Third, Hui Village-level economy in Henan is mostly extensive mode, which is prone to beingaffected by policy and environment; Fourth, because of low-tech, Henan Hui Village-level economy isweak in handling risks; fifth, conservative factors of Hui traditional culture in Henan gives a negativeimpact on the development of Hui village-level economy.On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the problems in the development of Hui village-leveleconomy in Henan Province, this paper put forward some suggestions to solve those problems by reasoning its development path theoretically. The suggestions mainly include five aspects: first, integrate the structureof Hui villages-level economy in Henan, so as to develop special products with Hui characteristics, andcreate a national brand. Second, improve public service capacity of Hui village committee and strengthendialogues between the Hui village levels, so as to form an economic union between them in Henanprovince. Third, plan rationally the functions of economic units within the Hui village levels in Henan, andestablishing economic development model of industrial complementation. Forth, adjust the investmentstructure of the village levels to transform the extensive economic model to intensive one. Fifth, establish acoordination mechanism of interest in Hui village levels of Henan to deal with conflicts between them.In this thesis, there are four chapters. The first chapter describes the economic development of Huivillage levels, which started with its distribution and summed the distribution features; next, the authorsummarized the historical form of Hui village-level economy; then, he also set forth the development stageof Hui village-level economy in Henan province and concluded the characteristics of its economicdevelopment in modern times; finally, he made an overall summary of the development characteristics ofHui village-level economy in Henan. The second chapter shows the problems in the development process.At first, by analyzing economic structure of Hui village levels in Henan, the problems in its developmentprocess are put forward. Then, the author pointed out the influence on its development exerted by nationalpolicies and traditional culture respectively; at last, he sort out the problems in the development from theperspective of overall economy. The third chapter elaborated the relationship between the development ofHui village-level economy and Hui traditional culture, religion (Islam), national relationship as well associal transformation separately. In the forth chapter, the author gave some relavent consideration to thedevelopment of Hui village-level economy and offered suggestions from the perspective of policy. First ofall, the author proposed the concept of integrated development for Hui village-level economy; later, on thebasis of integrated development goals, workable solutions are figured out; then, the author raised measuresto promote the development of Hui village-level economy from a macro perspective, and relevant policyrecommendations from the viewpoint of policy.
