With the rapid development of tourism industry in China,higher educationof tourism has achieved great results. Although in recent years, China’s thehigher education has prepared a large number of professional talents for thetourism industry, comparing with the large quantity, the quality of tourismprofessionals is not optimistic. It reflects that the quality level of tourism highereducation in our country needs to be improved. From the analysis that manydomestic scholars found, Chinese tourism higher education has many problemsin the training objectives, curriculum setting, teaching mode, teaching staff, andquality assurance. These problems will directly affect the quality of the tourismhigher education in our country. By comparing the difference of tourism highereducation between our country and abroad, scholars finds out the differences anddraws lessons from successful experiences, in order to promote the sustainableand healthy development of China’s tourism higher education. Britain, as one ofthe tourism industry developed countries in the world, gets a good developmentin tourism higher education. But the research about British higher education oftourism are rare, and the comparative study of anglo-chinese tourism highereducation is still a blank. In this paper, by comparing tourism higher education ofboth Chinese and English, find out the differences. And combining with theactual situation of our country, explore the improvement measures that is suitableto China’s tourism higher education development,Firstly, the article introduces the development course and characteristicscourse and characteristics in our country and the UK..Then expound thedifference between the two countries of higher education about travel from fiveaspects:the training objectives, curriculum setting, teaching mode, teaching staff,and quality assurance. Finally, combining with the actual situation of our countryfrom the five aspects, put forward specific improvement measures. Because ofthe problems such as training target fuzzy, the unreasonable phenomenon ofcurriculum and teaching mode becomes serious. Therefore in order to ensure theeffective teaching, we will need clear objectives and a double type teachers. Thekey to guarantee the quality of education is that creating a set of scientific quality assurance system. Only protecting the quality, can tourism higher educationproduce high quality, professional talents required by the market.
