Research On Packaging Materials Inventory Control Of D Company Beijing Operation Center

This paper is based on the actual situation of D company Beijing operation center. Through in-depth research, this paper finds some problems about packing materials inventory control of operation center. The problems are lack of classified management, inaccurate demand forecast and unreasonable safety stock. On this basis, this paper proposes the packaging materials inventory improvement program. Firstly, this paper use the ABC classification based on demand characteristic to divides packaging materials into three classes. And this paper proposes different inventory control methods for each kind of packaging materials.Then, this paper use winters seasonal exponential smoothing method to forecast the usage of Class AB packaging materials. This paper use2014prediction data to introduce the application of inventory improvement program and set up the safety stock of packaging material.Finally, this paper makes the effect evaluation between the actual effect of inventory control and program implementation effect of2014the first five months. And the effect evaluation suggests the new inventory control program can reduce inventory levels significantly and guarantee service levels and reduce stock capital occupied.There are two main research objectives of this paper:One is to improve the accuracy of packaging materials demand forecasting in order to provide better reference for packaging materials inventory control; Second is to meet the daily demand of the packaging materials and maintain a reasonable inventory levels. For the small demand fluctuation packaging materials, this paper uses multi-item grouping unified order model to control inventory. The model uses the different order frequency of high demand and low demand packaging materials and chooses part of the product to order jointly each time. For the large demand fluctuations packaging materials, this paper uses basic economic order quantity reference method. This method is simple and easy to operate. For the class C packing materials, this paper order one time to guarantee no shortage. In addition, this paper also resets the safety stock of packaging materials.
