| With the development of global economic integration and the revolution of scienceand technology, profound changes have taken place in international labor division andtrade, the global manufacturing system appears unprecedented vertical separation andreconstruction. Intro-product specialization and trade begin to develop based onvertical specialization. In this process, the global labor division is more precise withthe development of the intra-product specialization, from the end-product level in thepast into the level of product process. Resources allocation all over the world is moreflexible and diverse. As the largest developing country in the world, Chinagradually integrate into the global production network, also participate inintra-product specialization and trade, playing a more and more important role inglobal production network. With China joins in WTO, intra-product specializationand trade patterns also go deep into the production and trade in China, especially inparts and assembly processing. Intra-product specialization is based on theseparation of production process, especially in high technology industry. Electronicand information industry is also the most significant parts of the global division oflabor in the manufacturing sector, including computer, communication and radioequipment, electronic components, household electronic appliances and otherdepartments. Electronic and information industry is the most rapidly developingindustry in intra-product specialization and trade with representative modular nature.As a key industry in our country, the electronic and information industry have a rapidgrowth of in production and trade, occupying an important position in China’s foreigneconomy. So the research of the status about products division of China’s electronicand information industry and trade, have important realistic significance to enhanceindustrial competitiveness and structure optimization. Therefore, based on the view of the intra-product specialization, the article analyses the status of electronic andinformation industry in China, and the man factors affecting the developing of thisindustry.This article firstly analyses the research of the intra-product specialization at homeand abroad, including concept of intra-product specialization and contact of relatedconcepts, the measure of intra-product specialization and trade and its foundation andmotivation. Then analyses the general situation of the electronic and informationproducts from three angles of trade scale, structure and direction, using a combinationof qualitative and quantitative methods from different points. Then based on theoverall analysis of the present situation, this article analyses the trade scale, tradestructure and trade flows of parts and assembly of electronic and information productsin detail through the collection of import and export data, and finds that China’selectronic and information products have a high degree of intra-product trade. But it’sgradually decreasing in trade concentration of the product. In addition, theelectronic and information manufacturing industry in China further integrate into theglobal product specialization and trade, having closer trade ties with other countries.To a certain degree, China’s electronic information and industry achieves theindustrial upgrading with the participation in intra-product specialization, promotingthe total amount of China’s trade growth. But we must realize that China’s electronicand information product is still at the low end of value chain in international divisionof labor. The industry has not been fundamentally improved. Finally, combingwith the detailed analysis of the status, the article makes an empirical test about themain influencing factors of intra-product trade in China’s electronic and informationindustry, the results show that bilateral market scale, the disparity of per capita, factorendowment, FDI, as well as regional factors have different effects on intra-producttrade in our country’s electronic and information industry. |
