The Optimal Inventory Strategy Under Permissible Payment Delay

With the global economic integration development, the competition between companiesbecome more and more intense. In order to adapt the development of economic and improvecompetitiveness, the enterprise usually adopts all kinds of ways to increase the sales andexpands its market share.The most common way is deferred payment.The strategy not onlyencourage the retailers to increase their order but also can alleviate their financial pressure andmake the retailers get the extra profits. Deferred payment widely exist in business activities as away of short-term commercial credit.On the basis of existing research, this paper do the further research of the model of delay inpayment.The main content of the paper includes two point:(1). In the two-echelon supply chain consisted by single supplier and multiply retailers, Wepropose supplier-Stackelberg game model to get the supplier’s and the retailers’ maximum profitwith capital constraints.We study the setting problem of the supplier’s optimal threshold fromthe perspective of suppliers and get the supplier’s optimal threshold as well as retailers’ optimalordering police by solving the model. The numerical result show the feasibility of the model.(2). In this chapter, we combine the deferred payment with the price discount and proposethe inventory model of the non-instantaneous deteriorating items with maximum lifetime. Westudy the promotion problem of the non-instantaneous deteriorating items with maximumlifetime under permissible delay in payments, By the model, we get the retailer’s optimal promotionaltime, Finally, the numerical example verifies the related conclusion.
