With the development of the trend of economic globalization, Chinese enterprises began its internationalization in the way of its own characteristics, more and more Chinese enterprises have begun its internationalization. Due to different pursue of the ability they appear different choices:part of Chinese enterprises based on the exploitation of its domestic advantages to expand market and get resources; part of the enterprises rely on the foreign market to explore new abilities; the other part of the enterprise choose the both ways. Whether companies chose different way will lead to different performance levels, or will different performance indicators emerge differences? This is the main problem of this study.Based on the literature of dynamic capabilities and the ambidexterity theory, in a perspective of dynamic ability exploitation and building, combined with the international ambidexterity to explain the international development and exploration, the study established different hypotheses about the degree of market entrance with financial performance and development performance. Research suggests that Chinese companies operating in similar markets, development and utilization of existing capacity and continuous improvement will promote the continuation of successful business routines and bring more prominent financial performance; enterprises in unfamiliar markets, due to their contacts with the new environment and their minds mainly focus on exploring and building new capabilities, breaking the shackles of rigidity, companies will achieve higher growth performance. We selected272Chinese companies as our samples. Drawing on Hofstede’s cultural distance theory, the study divided the companies into three types. Through the analysis of various types of enterprise data, the empirical results verified our hypotheses. The study concluded:Enterprises choose the similar market, the degree of entrance comes into a positive relationship with the finance performance, a negative growth performance; Enterprises choose the unfamiliar market, it comes into a negative relationship with the finance performance, and a positive growth performance; while the companies operate on an ambidextrous market, the degree of entrance comes into a positive relationship with both of the performances. Enterprises that chose different foreign markets to develop different abilities appear different performance. So, in the process of internationalization, enterprises should pursue a more sustainable way to cultivate the competitive advantages and capabilities, avoid excessive risk and path dependence, the international ambidexterity can be regarded as a suitable mode of internationalization in a certain extent.
