With the development of society, the importance of tourism industry in the nationaleconomy had become increasingly prominent. The level of development of tourismindustry based on the entire national economy, and subject to the restrictions. At the sametime, the tourism industry directly or indirectly promoted the development of nationaleconomy. December1,2009the State Council issued “Accelerating the development oftourism”, on which clearly pointed the national should cultivate tourism industry into astrategic pillar industry and people more satisfied with the modern service industry.In this paper, we studied the development of tourism industry of Jiangjin District inChongqing. Through the analyzed of the status of its tourism industry, discovered theproblems, dig the development in their own potential and market opportunities, and to usestrategic management and basic marketing theory, the studies could mark the proposedstrategy for the development of tourism industry of Jiangjin.Firstly, this paper introduced the meaning of topics, analyzed both domestic andinternational related topics and theoretical research, the paper proposed research objectives,methodology and technology roadmap. Secondly, through the analysis on the tourismresources, tourism elements of Jiangjin, the studies used SWOT matrix to determine thedevelopment strategy of Jiangjin tourism industry. At the end, the paper pointed theeffective, strong operational strategies implemented safeguards for the development oftourism of Jiangjin.From both the theory and practice sides, the studies tried to find out the direction ofdevelopment for tourism industry in Jiangjin. The studies could be good for the rapiddevelopment of the tourism industry in Jiangjin, as well as to achieve sustainabledevelopment in the future. The studied could be used in other County’s tourism industrydevelopment in Chongqing. As the market environment and market conditions changedrapidly, in the process of implementation of the strategy should be adjusted according tothe specific circumstances of the various strategies.
