Research On The Determinants Of Offshoring Service Outsourcing

With the transfer of global economic center from manufacturing economy to service economy, the role of service sectors has become more and more important in global economy; service outsourcing as a special form of globalization service also plays an important role in the new round of economic adjustment.China’s "world factory" has brought our economy more than10%annual growth rate, but also brought China kinds of harm to human survival environment problems such as air pollution, environmental degradation, vegetation destruction, greenhouse effect, therefore China govenment has explicitly put forward to the transformation of the mode of economic growth way. Service outsourcing is an important part of modern service industry, with high added value, less environmental pollution, low resources consumption, high technical content, and the advantages of employment ability,which coincided with the current state which China advocates to establish a harmonious society and accelerate transformation of economic growth way. At present, the major host-countrys are developed countries or regions such as Europe, America, and the main undertaking countries are the developing countries such as China and India. In consequence, the research on offshore service outsourcing bears important theoretical and realistic significance.This article is divided into six parts, the main contents of each part are:the first part briefly discusses the significance and background of the topic. The second part reviews the relevant outsourcing literatures, including home and foreign and outsourcing theorys from the angle of economics, management, and sociology.The third part mainly analyzes the global and Chinese present situation and development trend of offshore services outsourcing. The fourth and the fifth parts are focus of this article. The fourth part is theoretical analysis. The fifth part is empirical test, which is on the basis of the; fourth part. The sixth part is suggestions. The policy suggestions are put forwarded on the fifth part.The study is to stand on the undertanking countries position to analysis the influence of six variables on overall and four industries. The six variables are information technology development level, economic development level, service trade openness, intellectual property rights protection level, labor quality and the international financial environment. The four industries are transport services industry, computer information services industry, financial services industry, and other business services industry. As for research method, this paper adopts theoretical analysis and empirical research,with the empirical research as the main one. The research samples are choosed by the ranking of2011A.T.Kearney. The data is from international authoritative websites, then processed and emprically tested using stata10.Results show that the influence of economic development level and service trade openness to the overall and four subdivision industries service outsoucing are very significant and there are positive correlation relationships. The influence of the rest variables are differnce. Information technology development level is negative for the overall service outsoucing, in contrast to the expected; The impact on four big industries are positive, with expectations. The international financial environment is positive for transportation service industry, in contrast to the expected; But for the overall service outsoucing and remaining three industries are negative, in line with expectations. Labor quality has a negative impact on computer information services industry and other business services industry, in contrast to the expected; But on the overall service outsoucing and the rest of two industries is positive, in line with expectations. Intellectual property rights protection level has a negative impact on the financial services industry and other business services industry, in contrast to the expected; But on the overall service outsoucing and the rest of two industries is positive, in line with expectations.
