As the reforming and opening up policy is boosting, China is rapidly developing itseconomic, from traditional mining, chemical engineering, iron and steel industry to thedevelopment of IT, medicine, etc. emerging industries nowadays, occupational diseasesinvolves in more and more industries and people. Accidents at work continuous andoccupational diseases rates is day by day increasing which will affect social stability andpeople’s safety together with the speed of harmony society construction. Meanwhile, thegovernment introduced a series of laws, such as Labor Law, Prevention and control ofOccupation Disease Law, Safety Production Law to protect the legitimates and interests ofworkers, continuously promote safety protection articles and begin to develop specialprotection appliance industry. However special protection appliance industry is still in theexploration stage. There is still long distance between the quality of special protectionappliance and that in foreign countries, and the local products are still dominant in mediumand high level product area.In this thesis, based on comprehension of special protection appliance, industrydevelopment, core competences related theory, firstly we analyzed the development of specialprotection appliance industry domestic and overseas, comprehend existence and developmentsituation of special protection appliance and the problems happened in the process, like lowerquality rate, lower technology content, lower level of modernization, lower degree of the scaleand enterprise without reasonable allocation standard.. Secondly the paper analyzed tenexcellent special protection appliance companies, including DuPont, Honeywell,3M, etc. Andparts of domestic companies, including saina group, wuxi woshine co. ltd., guangzhou gaojianlabor protect articles co. ltd, etc. Then the paper analyzed and summarized these company`scompetitive advantage. Thirdly, based on these analysis, summarized the core competenceindex of special protection appliance industry, including research and development level,application of new materials, production cost, production and inspection capacity, integratedsolution, etc.10indexes. And then the paper conducted index system construction anddetermined the weigh. Finally we proposed special protection appliance product corecompetitions evaluation model and cases, its leading company to do self assessment and toprovide reference to corporate’ s developing direction.
