Case Study On The Crisis Management Of Y Company

Nowadays, the modern enterprises are in a complex environment with the wide flow ofinformation. Any small crisis may lead to great disaster if not handed well; instead, it canexchange the plough for the sword if done well. The businessmen have to pay more attentionto Crisis Management.This paper will focus on a case study for the Strike Crisis Management of Y Company.Based on the4R theory of Crisis Management, which is consisted of Reduction, Readiness,Response and Recovery, we studied the whole event from various angles and found out that YCompany has some problems in the process of handling the case. According to the analysis,we tried to give the corresponding countermeasures against the problems for enhancing thelevel of enterprise’s Crisis Management.In the paper, we firstly introduced this paper’s researching background and significance.Then we explained the concepts of Crisis and Crisis Management, describing thedevelopment of Crisis Management and some mainly theories. At the end of Section1, theresearch conception and methods of the paper was presented. Section2amplified the wholecourse of Y Company’ Strike Crisis, including the background, the strikers’ demands and theactions that Y Company taken for solving crisis, followed by analyzing the influences that thecrisis possibly brought to enterprise. In the Section3, we applied the Robert Heath’s4Rtheories to analyze the crisis-management measures of Y company and found out that thereare some problems．Base on Section3, the next Section we put forward the countermeasuresin order to further improve the enterprises’ crisis management ability．Finally, we hope it canpromote the enterprises healthy growth by the case study.We can see the damage caused by crisis and learned the importance and necessity ofsuccessful crisis management for modern enterprises through the case study on the CrisisManagement of Y Company. We thought that preventing the crisis is the key of crisismanagement. One successful enterprise will do it best in the crisis reduced and ready periods.However, most of china enterprises are ignored it. The Chinese enterprises often becomefusses once suffered from the crisis. In a word, there is a long way on the crisis managementto learn for Chinese enterprise.
