Inventory Control Of CLT’s Based On Supply Chain Management

With the increasingly intense market competition, more and more corporatemanagers are realizing that the competition between the enterprises, besides the coretechnology, is mostly reflecting on the response degree to the changing market. In thecurrent economic environment, the operation model of the enterprises aretransforming to small batch and more varieties model. Under this condition, theresponding speed to the changing market determines the development of an enterprise.To some extent, inventory affects the enterprise responsiveness to the market.However, it is an important but difficult thing for a manufacturing enterprise tocontrol the inventory at right level. Carrying more inventory, means to the increase ofthe cost and the difficult of the management; while, carrying little inventory, leads tofail to the changing market and lost the market. The traditional inventory control waysare not adapt to the supply chain environment. Therefore, the inventory control, fromthe perspective of the whole supply chain management, is imperative.The object of this thesis is a joint venture----CLT Company. CLT Company is aleader in the chemical and dyestuff industry. It is difficult to control the inventory, asthere are more kinds and great quantity of raw materials and a large number ofvarieties of finished goods. The research on CLT Company’s inventory control hascertain representativeness in manufacturing enterprises. Firstly, this thesis analysis thepresent situation and existing problems of CLT Company’s inventory control, alsobriefly introduce some concepts and theories related to the supply chain managementand inventory control. Secondly, it researches the affect factors of inventory control inthe supply chain management system and what inventory control is under the supplychain management. Later, it introduce the raw material inventory control under MRP,using EOQ to optimize CLT’s inventory. Hoping can find a suitable way for CLTCompany, we can reach our goals. Finally, after comparing with the actual applicationeffects, we propose some improvements.
