Research For Yard Resource Management Of NC Container Terminal

Nowadays，the international logistics prefers the container transport in moderntransportation. As the container vessels becoming larger, it demands more and morerestrict to the container port. In recent years, the field of container transportationdevelops very fast in China. The ten big harbors in foreign countries take up morethan half of the world’s container transportation. China launched great importance indomestic container transportation, especially in the Yangtze River Branch. For thatreason, the inner harbors which lied along the Yangtze River developed fast. As oneof the inner harbor along the Yangtze River, NC Container Terminal had alreadysurpassed the designed throughput capability. The improving of the efficiency is veryurgent now, because the container business of the harbor develops fast.First, the thesis introduces the NC Container Terminal and the container yard, andthen describes the yard space recourses and the facilities recourses. Secondly, thethesis expounds the current situation of the company, then analysis’s the current yardrecourse management from two aspects, one is yard space resource, the other is thefacilities recourses. The thesis also summarizes the elements which affect theeffective use of the yard recourses. Thirdly, the thesis classifies the yard managementexperiences at home and abroad, and summarizes the problems of domestic yardmanagement. Finally，using the experiences of domestic and other countries forreference, considering the present situation of the NC Container Terminal, the thesisproposes the suggestions and countermeasures to improve the yard utility of thisharbor: Improving the loading and unloading operation mode of the yard, perfectingthe import and export container storage management, enhancing the operationmanagement of the yard, speeding up the yard construction outward, strengtheningthe technical and professional work training of the staff, and improving theinformation management system.
