Due to the globalization of economy, many leading enterprises have beenexploring and taking a brand new global operation model-"24hours knowledgefactory ". While global distributed teams are often become the management carrierof the global development, how to promote knowledge sharing among its membersacross asynchronous time zones in the process of globalization collaborative is thekey to the global success, in order to solve the problem of knowledge sharingeffectiveness in the process of asynchronously time zones. This paper investigatesfactors affecting the effectiveness of knowledge sharing in globally distributedexpert groups in overseas outsourcing MNCs. Based on the massive literature reviewof the relationship between24hours knowledge factory and knowledge sharing, focuses on the influence factors of multinational knowledge sharing and combiningthe typical characteristics of globally distributed team, an empirical study isconducted through using the SPSS19.0, correlation analysis and regression analysiswere used to investigate the typical characteristics of a distributed team main effecton the effectiveness of knowledge sharing, we specially focus on possiblemoderating effects of information and communication technologies usage on therelationships of knowledge heterogeneity, time zone separation and trust with theindividual satisfaction with knowledge sharing in the context of large multinationalsoftware companies and outsourcing companies by the use of hierarchical regressionanalyzes. The results show that: knowledge heterogeneity, trust and information andcommunication technologies usage has a significant positive effect on theeffectiveness of knowledge sharing, and the time separation, in the form ofmaximum time zone difference spanned by team members, has a stronger negativeimpact on knowledge sharing effectiveness; The application of information andcommunication technologies mitigates the negative effect of time zone separation onknowledge sharing effectiveness. This paper is the development of an empiricallytested model to improve the deeper understanding of how knowledge is shared inglobally dispersed settings in the MNCs and challenges traditional assumptions on the appropriate level of analysis in studies of knowledge flows within MNCs.
