Manufacturing industry of all world developed rapidly after the “World War II”.As to China, manufacturing industry has made remarkable achievements since reformand opening up. Nowadays China has been developed to be the world factory. As weall known, China’s manufactory industry has made great contribution to thedevelopment of China’s economy. During this period, the theory of enterpriseproduction and management has been developed and widely applied, especially thetheory of “lean thinking” that Toyota put forward and applied to the productionmanagement firstly has been to be the “Bible” in manufactory sector. In China, evenin all of the world, many enterprises are learning the theory and trying to takeimplementation.LS is a famous company which mainly engaged in lithium battery production.Photovoltaic energy systems business unit is one of its subordinate department. It isthe time that our company founded the photovoltaic business unit when thephotovoltaic industry suffered the cold of winter. So we seemed to be very weak insuch environment both in scale and cost. In order to improve such condition, weapplied lean thinking to help us reduce the operation cost as while as improve ourproduct quality on the one hand, and on the other hand we researched the photovoltaicpower independent supply and storage system combined with the advantage of thecompany lithium battery storage technology to expand our product structure.This dissertation analyzed the problems in operation of photovoltaic energysystems business unit, LS company, took use of lean thinking to improve thephotovoltaic module production workshop and independent photovoltaic powersystem products in many aspects. For instance, adjusting production line to “U” type,implementing “one piece flow” in logistic, making equipment automation,standardizing operation, doing lean research and so on. Finally, we found theimplementation of lean thinking had helped our business unit reduce the line waste,improve the production efficiency, reduce the production cost, shorten the delivery ofthe independent PV power system product, and improve our business unitcompetitiveness. Through learning and practicing the theory of lean thinking, this dissertationdeeply realized that lean thinking is not only suitable for the production and operationmanagement field, but also suitable for the entire group. That is we should apply leanthinking to our daily work in all businesses of our group. In conclusion, the heart oflean thinking is “made man”, which means through full participation, employeesimprove their ability in the cycle of finding problems and solving problems. Thus,they will get to be harder. Enterprise management should try to make man, only do so,can companies continue to make progress, and be successful in the competition.
