Research On Women’s Economic Status In Hebei Province

In the process of the human society, the same with men, women are the subject as well asthe important driving force of development. However, due to various reasons, women are inthe equal status with men in their own development. The development of women indicates thedegree of the development of human society and process. Hence, it is the need as well as thechoice of the development of the human society and process to focus on and to raise the statusof women.The economic status is an important component of female status and plays a fundamentalrole in the whole level of female status. The research takes Hebei Province’s rapiddevelopment of society and economy, and is mainly based on the relevant data from thesecond or third “the survey on women’s social status in China”, makes comprehensiveanalysis on the changes of women’s economic status in the previous decade. The researchfinds that the comprehensive index of the women’s status in Hebei Province has increased,especially “the structure and level of the employment” has improved greatly, however, theindexes such as “the level of economic participation”,“the income and insurance”,“occupational self-evaluation” have decreased in some extent, the women’s economic statusstill need to be improved. The research is based on the analysis of the character and the causesof the changes of women’s economic status in Hebei Province, and propose the basicsuggestions on how to improve the women’s economic status.The thesis mainly consists five parts: Firstly, the paper provides the research background,the purpose of the study, as well as the significance of the thesis. Besides, the paper tacklesthe relavant literature and introduces the subjects, meothodology as well as the innovations.Secondly, the research has chosen the measurable indicators as the research object, namely thetotal participation rate, the income of the employed women, the formation of the occupations,the occupational self-evaluation, makes a comparison of the year2010and2000thensummarizes the characters of the changes in the women’s economic status in Hebei Province.Thirdly，the paper establishes the index system with a comprehensive evaluation system, usesa combination of analytic hierarchy and the expert analysis mode to empower on eachindicator, bases on the relavant data to caculate the comprehensive index of women’seconomic status in2000and2010and makes the evaluation and analysis. Fourthly, the paperis to eloborate the major factors which influences the women’s economic status in Hebei Province from the perspective of women herself, the family as well as society, based on thecomprehensive evaluation of the changes of the evaluation indexes as well as the status.Finally, the paper is to conclude the research results and propose suggestions for furtherresearch.
