In recent years, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) is widely used because it can combat frequency selective fading and narrow-band interference with high spectrum efficiency. But with the tesion of spectrum resource, the flexibility and diversity of the communication service, OFDM has exposed the shortage of infexible format, the sensibility of frequency offset and the leakage of sidelobe. So researching new multicarrier modulation is very necessary to meet the requirement of communication network.Filterbank multicarrier(FBMC) is an alternative in 5G network because it can reduce the leakage of sidelobe and use fragment spectrum by designing the prototype filter, now it has been a hot research area in domestic and overseas.As muticarrier modulation system, FBMC has the shotcoming of high peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR). In this dissertation, we research the reduction of PAPR in FBMC systems. We analyze the PAPR performance of FBMC system according to the characteristic of FBMC system, and we analyze the performance of PTS approach on the reduction of PAPR in FBMC system. Besides, we consider the prototype filter and overlap feature of the symbols in time domain and propose an approach can reduce the PAPR of FBMC system significantly: modified patital transmit sequence(mPTS). In this approach, we improve the performance of the traditional PTS approach by modifying the choice of the best weighting factors with the consideration of the overlap between the present symbol and the past symbols. The simulation result shows this approach performs better than traditional PTS approach in the reduction of PAPR in FBMC system, but the sideinformation in this approach will cause new PAPR problem. We use clipping approach to solve the PAPR problem of side information and propose the mPTS-clipping combined scheme to reduce the PAPR, and analyze the performance of this scheme in FBMC system.
