With the rapid process of mobile communication and Internet, the demand of wireless communication technology is increasing constantly. Because of the advantages of high access speed, convenience of setup and facility of constructing, the WLAN has been widely used in apartment and office. There are problems such as high density random deployment; lack of RF resource management in personal WLAN and the spectrum resources is limited in 2.4 GHz ISM band. Personal WLAN which operated in 2.4 GHz is facing problems of deteriorating of wireless environment, intensified radio interference and network performance degradation. Therefore, we need to recognition wireless environment, make full use of limited channel resources and allocate channel dynamically to solve the problems above. This article makes a brief introduction to the structure and topology of WLAN, summarizes the WLAN standard, analyzes the division of channels, and classifies wireless interference problems. This thesis analyzes channel interference effects on network performance by experimentation. The experiments show that channel interference existent, co-channel interference is more serious than partially overlapped channels. Using partially overlapped channels is more helpful than orthogonal channels to improve network performance. For the usage scenarios of WLAN, the article also studies wireless signals path loss model in door and builds overlapped channels factor mode. This thesis points out that the overlapped channel allocation algorithm base on SINR has deficiencies in personal WLAN, so a dynamic channel allocation algorithm is proposed. Channel interference model is constructed. In order to verify the algorithm in the real environment, the algorithm has been implemented in commercial wireless router. Through laboratory testing, the proposed algorithm can identify the wireless environment, rate the status of channel interference, and then give the most suitable channel. Through contrast experiments, the algorithm can reduce channel interference from neighbor networks, the wireless router network throughput increases about 14%, and time delay also has been obviously improved.
