With the development of science, and the large-scale use of GIS( geographic information system)、remote sensing、statellite positioning in the field of environmental monitoring, which brings the explosive growth of data. The discription varies according to the monitoring source, so it will lead to the pluralism, muti-dimension and heterogeneous characteristics. The indicators in the monitoring system is interactional. So when we analyze the impact of indicators to the monitoring system, it is necessary to combine several relevant indicators, not just one single kind to metric. According to the monitoring value of different monitoring value, the result can how the current environment suitability. Therefore, the environmental monitoring system on the one hand to face the problem of massive data processing, on the other hand will also face the challenges of data fusion between the related factors.We have first researched the data fusion and the big data technologies. To the problem in the environmental monitoring system, we will make the big data technologies be our effective tool to complete the data fusion work. There is a big difference between the old system and the new one. In the new system, data storing and data processing will be distribute. We will adopt the NoSQL database, while HDFS in processing phase and HBase in final storage phase. In the data fusion, kalman filtering algorithm and DS evidence reasoning algorithm combine with MapRreduce framework will be used. The final result can be more accurrate to express the condition of the environment.
