In wireless sensor networks, nodes have limited energy severely limits its application development. Therefore, how to effectively reduce the network node energy consumption and improve reliability of data transmission has become a focus of research in the field of wireless sensor networks. Duty-cycle depends on received data information which embedded in the data to determine the working status and avoid receiving a duplicate data, which effectively improve the data delivery ratio and network energy efficiency.Compressed sensing theory uses the sparsity of the signal to compress the signal to the low-dimensional space, and then uses this part of the compressed signal to reconstruct the original signal with high probability, effectively reducing the amount of network data transmission, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving. With the goal of reducing the network energy consumption, the work starts with reducing the redundancy of data, then studies energy consumption of wireless sensor networks deeply, and then put forward an energy-saving algorithm for wireless sensor networks based on duty-cycle and compressed sensing. The main contents and innovations of this paper are as follows:1.An energy-saving algorithm for wireless sensor networks based on duty-cycle(DCES)is proposed. The algorithm depends on received data information which embedded in the data to determine the working status and avoid receiving a duplicate data, to reduce the energy consumption of network nodes. Through the theoretical calculation, the paper analyzed the maximum of the network energy consumption for DCES and proved the optimal value of the network energy consumption for the multi-hop network. Experimental results show that comparing with flooding algorithm, NCDES can prolong the network lifetime about 57.5%,and reduce average energy consumption of the nodes about 65.8%, and the algorithm also improves the packet delivery rate about 20.5%, thereby effectively improve the performance of the entire network system.2.An energy-saving algorithm for wireless sensor networks based on duty-cycle and compressed sensing(CS-DCES) is proposed. The algorithm makes full use of the data spatialand temporal correlations, then compresses the data by compressed sensing over finite fields on the source node, and the duty-cycle of treatment, so that substantially reduce the amount of data transmitted in the network, decreased energy consumption. In this paper, a finite field compressed sensing conducted in-depth research and analysis, and then construct an improved deterministic polynomial matrix as a measurement matrix. The simulation results show that, comparing with other energy saving algorithm, CS-DCES can reduce the network energy consumption by 30% and improve the efficiency of data reconstruction by 2.5%, so that under the premise to ensure reliable data transmission to prolong the network lifetime.
