Based on the relevant theoretical analysis, experimental research and the field test,the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the ultraviolet image processing system of insulator were studied. The main research are the following aspects:1.Based on the photon number parameters of certain deficiencies in the actual detection,it puts forward using digital image processing and video analysis algorithm to extract the relevant parameters used to quantify the ultraviolet image; The ultraviolet image gray-scale transform first, and then morphological filtering, segment the discharge spot area. On the basis of this,the spot area parameter is defined.Ultraviolet imaging method is used to comparative study the relationship between ultraviolet imaging parameters and the discharge signal. The relationship between the electrical pulse signal and the uv parameters is studied.The estimation of discharge is realized.2.CoroCAM ultraviolet imager and Daycor ultraviolet imager are compared, the spot area and the photon number parameter changing with distance and gain characteristics is studied. According to the result of the experiment,light spot area is choosed as the quantitative parameters of discharge and the light spot area as the change of distance data is fitting analyzed.3.In the plain area and high altitude area, the influence of altitude factors and wind factors to ultraviolet imaging is studied,in order to realize the application of practical engineering testing instruction.4.With Microsoft SQL Server relational database management system as the background database Server and with Borland Delphi as a language, a image processing system is developed. The system realizes the processing of the ultraviolet image and video information, and extracts the characteristics of the discharge signals.
