Power Line Communication(referred to as PLC) is a kind of communication which uses electric wires. It has advantages of simply using, easily upgrading and maintaining without rewiring. It is one of the technique solutions for establishing a data communication system. City power grids is a kind of very valuable data transfer channel which could be used. The transfer media of power carrier will not be limited not only in household electric but lighting power lines which is used on city roads.PLC has already fully covered every area of human society and connected to all devices in daily life. It provides a variety of communication solutions by making full use of the existing communication technology. PLC effectively makes up the disadvantages of other private line networks by using electric wires to establish the networks, which makes it occupy a place in line area.Lighting system, as the most basic power facility, is widely used in our country. However, there are loopholes in management and huge waste of energy. The paper focuses on the management loopholes and energy waste in current status of traditional lighting system in our country. It introduces the lightning system based on PLC, which is used for solving these problems. The system includes both hardware device and software system. By this system, we can effectively make use of the lightening device of city power grids. So we can achieve the goal of saving energy and reducing emissions.During my postgraduate period, I study and practice the PLC to make both the hardware technology and the software system in this project feasible and prove the result reliable. During the study, I have finished drawing the Schematic Diagram of the main equipment, PCB plate design and embedded coding, as well as the upper application programming design and implementation. The research results can be directly applied to working environment.In order to solve the problem in practical engineering environment that the three-phase power lines cannot make connection without short circuit, I design a three-phase line data concentrator by myself. The three-phase data concentrator can bridge the data of A, B, C phase lines without short circuit. It solves the problems in interconnection of three-phase power lines.
