Pulse compression technology has prominent advantages in solving the conflicting issues of detection range and range resolution because of the using of traditional single carrier frequency radar signal in radar systems, thus this technology has been widely used in many different radar systems. However, as the emergence and upgrading of different means of intercepting, the traditional pulse compression signal cannot has satisfied the detection requirements in specific situation, and the research of designing radar signal that is more complex and its detection performance can satisfy the detection requirements has become an important subject.Through the comparative research the advantages and the disadvantages of detection performance of the common pulse compression signals and the combined modulation radar signal composed of single pulse compression signal in the detection, mainly including the linear frequency modulation(LFM)signal, the two-phase code signal, pseudo code- linear frequency modulation combined signal,this topic proposes a new kind of complex radar s ignal – pseudo code-polynomial fitting of nonlinear frequency modulation combin ed signal. Through the analys is and simulation of this signal that proves that the signal has irreplaceable advantages in suppressing the side-lobe and reducing the ambiguity and increasing the signal complexity comparing with several other signals. Additionally, in the process of research of pulse compression technology, this topic raises a method of truncation compression pulse to solve the problem that the using of signal with greater time width results in the increasing of detection blind zone in pulse compression technology. Then the feasibility that the truncation compression pulse can solve the detection blind zone problem is verified by the analysis of theory and the simulation results.The works been done in this paper as follows:(1) Using the princ iple of stationary phase to realize the generation and simulation of pseudo code- polynomial nonlinear frequency modulation, and comparing this signal to other common combined modulation signal, proving the advantages of this signal.(2) Analysis the princ iple of realizing and application that truncation compression pulse solves the detection blind zone of single base station radar. And through Matlab simulation to implement the generation truncation compression pulse signal and detection results, that verify that the feas ibility that truncation compression pulse solves the problem of blind zone.
