The Modular Design Of The Smartphone

With the rapid development of smart phones, the phone’s appeal for people not as single as previous feature phones, entertainment has become one of the important functions of the phone. Smartphone upgrading more and more fast, a cell phone from first appear to out of date only need less than a year. About this question, this thesis proposed a modular design of smart phones, Aims to solve the problems mobile phone’s fast replacement and provide research support for the modular design of the phone.This paper studied the modular smart phones, used design method of modular based on users’ needs, after comprehensive investigation and analysis of three areas included the physical, psychological and functional of the user’s needs, obtained design elements of smartphone. According to Chinese residents clustering paradigm model determined the target user group and carry out modular design. Firstly, integrated modules based on modular hardware division; secondly, researched structural connections and interface connections of modules, promoting mass production of products; and then design each module’s packaging, improving the user identification of the module; then take into account human machine analysis of mobile phone and users during the phone design progress, smartphone’s size should be ergonomic. Finally, summarized the design elements of smartphone, obtained the design scheme and verified this design scheme.In summary, this paper utilized modular design method based on user needs, analysis of three aspects included the user’s physical, psychological and functional requirements, explored design elements of the modular design of smartphone, analyzed human machine relationship of the user and mobile phone, allowing users using cell phones in more comfortable way. By summarizing design elements and obtaining needs of user for smartphone’s handset size, color scheme and function, completed a design scheme of modular smartphones.
