Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) is a key research subject in the new century, whose development and technical level have been paid widely attention by contemporary society. The development of embedded technology makes the volume of sensor nodes miniaturized. The progress of wireless technology enables the exchange of information between the sensor nodes more intelligent. The development of mobile robots technology makes the hybrid sensor network become possible. The first problem to set up the wireless sensor networks is how to deploy network nodes. Due to the particularity of the network application environment which the staff can’t reach, it is inevitable that the blind zone of network’s coverage occurs if the sensor nodes are randomly deployed. In order to solve the disadvantages of nodes random deployment, the hybrid wireless sensor network which consists of a large number of fixed nodes and a small number of mobile nodes arises at the historic moment. Through self-adjustment of the mobile nodes’ location, it can effectively make up the covering loopholes that formed by the fixed nodes random deployment. This method is an effective solution to the problem of the coverage of monitoring area, which has favorable ability to adapt the environment.By carefully analyzing the covering loopholes formed by the random deployment of the fixed nodes in hybrid wireless sensor network and studying the characteristics of loopholes, the Voronoi artificial bee colony(VABC) based on Voronoi polygon was put forward. The algorithm first determines the position of the fixed nodes’ coverage holes by Voronoi polygons partition, and then uses the Voronoi polygons to analyze the characteristic of different loopholes and guide the implementation process of bee colony algorithm, finally determines the mobile nodes’ location and forms the hybrid wireless sensor network that can meet the coverage requirement. Through simulating the deployment process of hybrid wireless sensor network under the guidance of VABC algorithm by MATLAB, the simulation results show that the VABC algorithm overcomes the disadvantage of slow convergence speed and easy to fall into local extreme value. It is simple to implement, improves the coverage ratio of the hybrid network and achieve the optimal coverage of the network. Finally, the proposed VABC algorithm is applied to design the wireless base stations’ location in mobile communication system. Using the improved algorithm can quickly find out the base stations’ location, to meet the requirements of communication network. Through comparing the coverage ability of wireless base station network before and after plan, the simulation results can guide the selection of base stations’ location and the demolition of redundancy stations. Thus, the method provides a rational plan of the base station integration so as to achieve practical application of the theoretical research.
