With the development and application of the fourth-generation and the next generation mobile communication technology, MIMO and high-order modulation techniques have received extensive attentions and researches due to their high spectral efficiency and transmission reliability. In order to get MIMO channel theoretical modeling and experimental models, the development of MIMO channel experimental platform with wide bandwidth, high-frequency and high-rate is very important. On the basis of extensively studying and analyzing the theory of high linear broadband RF transceiver design, the main work of this thesis aims to design and complete a RF transceiver, which is applied on the MIMO channel experimental platform.Firstly, the system scheme of the RF system and the ADS simulation are given, and the system performance and technical specifications are analyzed and optimized. According to the design specifications, the design schemes of the receiver, the transmitter and the LO signal generating are determined. The performance of the transceiver is further enhanced via reasonable gain allocation and meticulous chip selection. The designed superheterodyne broadband RF system operates in 4.9GHz-5.9GHz with 100MHz bandwidth.Secondly, the hardware design of a high linear broadband RF transceiver is implemented.According to the design specifications, the thesis completes the following works, i.e. circuit scheme layouts and PCB layouts of sub-modules, discussion of technical specifications and performance measurement of key modules circuit scheme layouts and PCB layouts of sub-modules, discussion of the technical indicators and performance measurement of key modules. Then, these sub-modules are integrated together on a contact broadband RF circuit board. Finally, the the PCB layout and performance measurement of a broadband RF system is finished. The thesis also compares and analyzes the simulation data and the gap between the theoretical data and the measured data. Additionally, the shortages and following improvements are proposed. Test results show that the broadband RF system has reached the design goal.
