With the rapid development of college informatization,more and more datum need to be storaged and managed.the data are accumulated more over time, and it takes up a lot of system resources.separating out these historical data from the application system is necessary. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the college’s historical data and the need of storage and management of it, then analyzes and compares the current research methods of massive historical data, and proposes a hybrid storage system based on Oracle and MongoDB to address the problems above. The main work of this paper are as follows:(1) Analyze the characteristics of college’s historical data, study its storage technology, and propose a hybrid storage system to the storage and management difficulties of college’s historical data.(2) Research the principles of distributed database, auto-shard technology, data partition strategies, and horizontal expansion of MongoDB to deal with the massive college’s historical data. In addition, improve the automatic balance strategy of MongoDB to make it more balanced.(3) Research the logic data model of MongoDB, realize the denomilization of historical data to deal with the inconsistent data schema and to storage semi-structured data well, and research GridFS to realize the storage of massive unstructured data.(4) Research SQL parsing technology, SQL routing and SQL adapter technology of data access layer to provide unified access interface for users and to make it possible to access the hybrid storage system transparently.(5) Implement the hybrid storage system for colleage’s historical data-WisHistoric. According to the characteristics and management need of colleage’s historical data, corresponding test programs is designed and experimental results shows that hybrid storage architecture designed in this paper can satisfy the storage and management needs of colleage’s historical data.
