Nowadays, as terrorism is rampant, the world’s demand for safety inspection systems is increasing. Human security technology plays an important role in the system security technology, in which millimeter wave screening technology has been gradually developed in the security field because of its non-ionizing radiation, high passing rate, and high sensitivity with metal or non-metallic weapons, drugs, explosives, other materials and so on.The passive millimeter wave detection technology is one of the numerous scanning technologies. These devices are placed in the entrances of airport, subway, border, government and commercial buildings. Millimeter wave imaging system can not only detect metal objects, but also can detect plastic guns, explosives and other dangerous materials, and the information obtained is more detailed and accurate, thus the false alarm rate is greatly reduced. It can be used for airport security systems and remote monitoring.Currently, the millimeter wave imaging system is being developed rapidly, and with more specific improvements can broad the application field successfully.In this thesis, the author will analyze the design and implementation of the passive millimeter wave body-checking software subsystem. Mainly present in the design of the software system, the recognition accuracy, the design of interface language, the implementation of millimeter wave imaging camera real-time display, the automatic or manual recognition and alarm of the suspicious area, the replay of history images, etc. This thesis achieves the control and coordination the various systems, provides a commercial human-machine interface for the entire system, which is convenient for user to control and operate the inspection system. The system uses object-oriented programming technique MVVM design pattern, XAML design interface as well as C# coding under the WPF environment. The communication between the modules is JSON data interchange format.As a major enterprise in security field, Nuctech has the mature technology in image processing and the design of scanning devices. Meanwhile the Institution of Microwave and Antenna Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, has deep research in millimeter-wave technology. With the cooperation between the above institutions, I believe that we can develop millimeter wave imaging system with high performance which could occupy the Chinese market and step into the international market to make contribution to the safety field and create greater value.
