As more and more breakthrough made in visible light communication(VLC) research area at home and abroad, VLC has attracted more and more attentions from society and people. At the same time, depending on the rapid development of the LED device, the VLC technology meets the best opportunity to develop and popularize. The VLC has several good characteristics, like transmission high security, rectilinear propagation, fast transmission rate and environmental protection. With the LED’s popularization to be the next generation of illumination source, the time that VLC technology applied in our life is on its way.The research in this paper is based on the VLC technology, it takes advantage of the rectilinear propagation and high security characteristics. Face the application demand that high transmission security in environment such as the business building and residence apartment, the VLC access control system that proposed in this paper replaced the traditional authority identify method with visible light detection pattern and solves the security problem exist in traditional access system. At the same time, the utilization of technology of the Internet of Things(IOT) makes the access control system could attach into the internet at any time, which makes the remote monitoring and dynamic personal authority possible and improves the reliability and security further.The project proposed in this paper combined the technology of VLC、IOT、Web server and access control system together. The designed access control system take the visible light to identify different user, which solves the safety problem during the transmission process. At the same time, the system can be control through internet by the Web server, which achieve the function of information propagation safety, high data transmission speed, dynamic control through the net.In this paper, the project of smart IOT access control system based on visible light communication is proposed. The project is divided into three part, like visible light key unit, wireless access control unit based on visible light detection and the backstage supporter sever unit. In this paper, each unit is introduced with a chapter in detail. And each unit is separated into function module in order to tell the realization theory and design project. Also, the opposite demonstration system is built in experiment. The test result of the demonstration system identified with the expected function and verified the feasibility of the design project.
